PETA slams Liam Neeson for eating wolf meat

Sacramento Sun (ANI) Tuesday 7th February, 2012

Animal rights group are appealing film fans to boycott Liam Neeson's latest movie 'The Grey' after the actor confessed to eating wolf stew to get into the character.

The film has the Irish actor portraying an oil worker who is stranded in the Arctic with a group of colleagues following a plane crash and are forced to fight for survival as they are hunted by a pack of wolves.

While shooting, the movie's director Joe Carnahan suggested the cast eat wolf meat to get into character, and Neeson revealed he "went up for seconds of the wolf stew", the Daily Express reported.

However, his comments have enraged activists at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), who are advising cinemagoers to avoid 'The Grey' in protest.

"Neeson's stance on kindness to animals is sorely out of step with the rest of the world... Don't just shy away. Run away from The Grey," PETA said in a statement. (ANI)
